Signs of menopause info

Menopause is the end of a woman’s menstrual cycle and fertility and is a normal condition that all women experience as they age. Women who experience menopause as a result of cancer treatments may have signs of menopause during treatment or a few months after. The woman may experience shortness of breath, sweating, hot flashes, heaviness in chest etc. amongst other symptoms.
Hot flashes are the body’s reaction to a decreased supply of the hormone estrogen, which occurs naturally as women approach menopause. As the hormone levels change and the amount of estrogen present in the body decreases, the vagina can dry out and become uncomfortable. Low levels of estrogen can lead to changes in a woman’s overall health and may increase her risk for certain medical conditions, such asosteoporosis.
